The departments main activity is the technical examination

In recent years, growin area of the departments activities is the technical examination on artifacts, regarding their structure, materials and state of preservation. By its participation in research programs of the E.

and the technology of the various artifacts, the improvement of the
materials and the techniques applied during conservation procedures,
the gradual renewal of the departments equipment, as well as the collaboration
with institutions bearing common interests and goals.
