The Hellenic Society for Archaeometry (HAS) announces the organisation of the 5th Symposium on Archaeometry which will take place in Athens, October 2008. The aim of the Symposium is to promote the results of recent research involving the application of scientific methods in Aegean archaeology.
Τhe main topics covered are: Dating, Authenticity, Technology and Provenance (ceramic, metals, glass, stones, mortars, pigments etc), Geophysical Prospection, Geoarchaeology, Research in Conservation, Bioarchaeology, Organic Residues, Statistics in Archaeology.
Special theme session:
Archaeology, Palaeoanthropology and Palaeoenvironment of Greek Caves :
The application of Scientific Studies with Emphasis on Large Scale Projects.
Registration Fees: Registration fees include the participants bag, the attendance certificate, coffee breaks, the welcome reception and are priced:
Regular 100 euro - Student 50 euro
Symposium official languages: Greek and English. Participants are advised that interpreters will not be available during the presentations. Speakers who prefer to present their papers in Greek are kindly advised to provide slides in English.
Social Program: A welcome reception and a farewell dinner are planned.
